What kind of art should I use?

Due to the flexibility in size that vector art offers, those files are preferred, but some raster images can work as well. If you would like to use a raster image, please make sure it is created at 300 dpi in a CMYK value.

What is the difference between Raster and Vector art files?

Raster artwork is any digital art composed of horizontal and vertical rows of pixels. As a result, when raster images are enlarged, the image quality is diminished. Typical raster file types include .psd, .tif, .jpg, .gif and .bmp.

Vector artwork is digital art composed of mathematical lines and curves. As a result, vector images can be reduced or enlarged in size indefinitely without any loss in image quality. Typical vector file types include .ai, .eps, .ps, .svg, .pdf and .cdr.

Why does my art look “blocky”?

The image’s resolution is not high enough.

Will my art print correctly?

The quality of the print is directly related to the quality of the image submitted. Therefore, the better the image, the better the print. Our design and printing teams work with you to do our best to deliver the design you want in the way you want it to look.

What is resolution? What resolution is the best for t-shirt printing?

Resolution refers to how many pixels per square inch are in an image. This is measured in dots per inch, or dpi.

300 dpi is the ideal resolution for printing.

How can I increase the resolution of my art?

Photo software such as Photoshop has the tools to increase resolution.

Caution: Increasing the size of an image that has already been saved as a low resolution image will not increase the actual resolution of the image.
